Zunum Aero Set to Launch Hybrid-to-Electric Planes

A JetBlue-backed private jet company is all set to venture into using hybrid-to-electric planes. Zunum Aero, based in Kirkland, Washington, share an investor in JetBlue together with JetSuite and are rethinking short-distance flights through its investments. The startup recently signed a deal to sell up to 100 of its hybrid-electric-powered planes to private-jet-charter provider JetSuite slated for delivery in 2022. (more…)

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un uses a Soviet-style private jet that is memorably dubbed as Air Force Un, in a style that is compared in scale to the U.S. Presidential jet Air Force One. The 174ft Soviet Ilyushin IL-62 is officially known as ‘Chammae-1’, or ‘Goshawk-1’ after the national bird (a native species of a hawk) of North Korea. (more…)
