Dreamliner – Boeing 787 the New Entrant in Private Jet World

China’s HNA Group, the parent company of Hainan Airlines, will take delivery of the glamorous shiny new 787 Boeing Business Jet (787 BBJ), in the third quarter of 2016. This private jet will have a range of 9,800 miles or 17 hours of flying time, with only 40 passengers (VVIP) on board (wherein the commercial 787 carries 300 passengers), luggage, fuel and a whole lot of swanky amenities at service in flight. The price tag of the 787-9 commercial carrier is approximate $250 million whereas this business jet will cost Hainan Airlines $300 million. (more…)

NASA Goes Green After Funding Research for Eco-Friendly Passenger Planes

NASA, the US space agency prominently known for breaking air speed records, rejuvenated supersonic passenger travel with a reported investment of $6 million. NASA granted eight groups funding to research and develop quieter and greener superonic jets for commercial air travel. Supersonic air planes were seemingly extinct following Concorde’s last flight in 2003. However, with NASA’s backing, we are likely to see commercial airliners zooming at the speed of sound by 2025. Global flight times would dramatically reduce with supersonic commercial planes. (more…)

ACJ320neo – Redefining Corporate Jet Standards

Acropolis Aviation has just signed a deal with Airbus stating that they will be the launch customer of the new ACJ320neo, said to be entering service early 2020. Acropolis Aviation, one of Europe’s top luxury air charter companies, states that the new charter plane will have a range of 6,000nm/11,100km giving it the capability to fly from London to Los Angeles, London to Johannesburg or London to Tokyo direct and London to Sydney with only one refueling stop! The ACJ320neo will also have 1,033 square feet of cabin space and the capacity to hold 140 bags and seat 19 passengers. Interior photo’s of the new private jet charter have not been released yet but from the looks of Acropolis’ ACJ319, which began operations in 2010, we can expect top of the line performance and a luxurious VVIP (Very Very Important Person) cabin.
