The global leader in personal aviation, Cirrus Aircraft, recently announced the second-generation Vision Jet – G2’s launch to enhance comfort, performance, and safety for the world’s first single-engine Personal Jet.

G2 promises increases in cruise altitude, speed, and range. Built on innovative technologies including category-first Autothrottle, Flight Stream connectivity and more – G2 enhances the passenger experience. The fliers can look forward to enjoying new executive seats, thoughtfully-engineered noise reduction and a passenger productivity console.

Pat Waddick, President, of Innovation & Operations, said that the Cirrus Aircraft story was one of relentless innovation. He added that in the last 20 years of re-imagining the SR Series with constant improvements to comfort, performance, and safety, the G2 Vision Jet resulted from that same spirit of innovation. Waddick further said that G2 is yet another game-changer in personal aviation, and it was made possible by the world-class team they had at Cirrus Aircraft.

The G2 Vision Jet will reportedly go higher and provide increased flexibility to carry an additional 150 lb on an 800 NM mission and pushes top cruise speed even further above 300kts. Meanwhile, an expanded flight envelope to Flight Level 310 (31,000 ft) raises the all-new aircraft’s performance and capabilities.
The G2 also introduces the ‘Perspective Touch+’ by Garmin advanced flight deck. The Perspective Touch+ elevates the Vision Jet flight deck to a new level. And Autothrottle, which is usually found on high-end business jets and commercial transport aircraft, is now available on G2.

The New Flight Stream capabilities create connectivity between fliers’ mobile devices and the flight deck and simplify the pilot’s experiences. Collectively, the new G2 features augment the Vision Jet flight deck’s class-leading capabilities, including 3D Synthetic Vision, SurfaceWatch, datalink weather, ADS-B, satellite communications, and more.

In the context of comfort, the G2 Jet cabin raises the bar and offers spaciousness, panoramic views, and productivity. Fliers can look out for artisan-crafted second-row seats and an all-new centre console with stow-away tables. They can also access 110V power outlets and an expansive video monitor that extends from its flush mount overhead and delivers a best-in-class range of display and entertainment options from their favourite device.
The Vision Jet received FAA certification in 2016 and was also was awarded the most prestigious award in aeronautics – the Robert J. Collier Trophy. Meanwhile, it is expected that the G2 Vision Jets will begin delivering this month.
