The world’s most luxurious commercial jet, Crystal Skye, a privately-owned converted Boeing 777-200LR made its inaugural run from Hong Kong recently. The luxury jet that can reportedly accommodate 88 passengers boasts of an opulent dining area, seats that can be converted into spacious beds, and a mixologist on board.

Edie Rodriguez, the former CEO of Crystal, said that the new jets were a groundbreaking development in the luxury travel industry. The plane has a 24-seat restaurant, bar, and lounge, and a state-of-the-art gourmet galley with a magnificent 200-bottle wine cellar that is reportedly the largest on any aircraft.

Passengers can completely relax in one of the 88 armchair-style seats, stylishly upholstered with hand-stitched English leather and have a 2x2x2 configuration. It is easy to tune in to the 24-in HD Panasonic TV monitors that feature multi-language programming and has a channel where guests can run their videos. The seats are reported to have power plugs, USB ports, etc., and can be transformed into 6ft 2in flatbeds. The cashmere blankets, mattress toppers, goose-down pillows, and snug duvets augment the entire experience.

The five-star interiors reflect attention to detail which resonates in every nook and cranny. The menus are Michelin-star-inspired, and passengers can expect top-notch hospitality from the onboard butlers who speak more than 35 languages. The executive chef, Francois Van Zyl, is all set to satisfy patrons’ diverse food and taste preferences. Master Chef, Chan Kwok Keung reportedly collaborates with Zyl to create exquisite dishes.

The dining area is featured four immaculate oval tables and can seat six guests. Occasional turbulence is taken care of with seatbelts added to the dining chairs. The jet has six bathrooms, which create a spa-like atmosphere with the massive granite countertops, new sinks, and Etro products. And, the double-width aisles make it perfect for walking in the hallway.

The luxury jet tickets are expected to cost around £13,400 ($18,000) per person.
