Phillippe Saint-Andre has recently entered the aviation industry in a hope to bring private flights to ordinary citizens. Mr Saint-Andre is a French rugby coach that took France into the quarter-finals. Phillippe Saint-Andre alongside his former player Christophe Ducluzeau helped found Le Jet. Le Jet is supposed to be as low as a one-way flight from London to Paris for 363 €. This route is expected to run on Monday and Friday when first starting.
Private jet charter has been very expensive in the past. Usually, only professional sports teams, celebrities, or political figures can afford these private flights. On a private jet charter from Paris to Nice cost more than seven thousand Euros, translating to more than 10,000 USD. Mr Decluzeau once had to fly from Paris to Nice during a period where there were no plane rides given by Air France and the only way for this was on a private plane.
Le Jet is the first company in France to attempt to bring private flights to non-wealthy people and perform exceptionally well. Private plane rides have been so expensive that not that many people have demanded them and there have not been many airlines offering private flights for reasonable prices when they could make more money from allowing many people to ride in a plane.
If this initial trip from Paris to London works out well, there will be more direct flying routes. The airports that the planes are expected to run from in London and Paris will be the Stansted and Le Bourget airports, two popular destinations for many different airlines.
Le Jet is expected to be the leader of private flight providers in most of Europe for the near future.
