Private jet flying is picking up at jet speed in the twenty-first century. One needs not own a private jet to fly to London from New York but can have the same luxury and privacy on board. US-based specialist Bliss Jet has unveiled its plans to operate ‘ultra-exclusive’ private transatlantic jet flights between Biggin Hill airport in London and New York’s Westchester county airport. It will be in operation from September 2016. On Sunday night the flight will start from New York to arrive at London Biggin Hill Airport refreshed and ready for a workweek. Then from London, the return flight will depart after lunch on Friday so travellers can schedule morning meetings and arrive in the US in the late evening. Bliss jet will operate Gulfstream Aerospace G4SP, aircraft for this ticketed private flight.
This aircraft is converted into an ultra-luxurious private plane with the capacity of 14 passengers on board. Each seat will cost $11,995 for one way journey. Passengers onboard can choose custom meals from a comprehensive menu, access various entertainment options, and connect to the world using Wi-Fi. Bliss will also arrange helicopter or ground transportation upon request.
The company, in its announcement about this flight operation, says, “Unlike crowded business class sections, Bliss Jet will limit seat sales well below the maximum aircraft’s capacity for extra comfort.” Passengers will be allowed to check in just 30 mins before departure against nearly two hours required on commercial transatlantic flights. They will use a private terminal at Biggin Hill. Boarding the aircraft will mean walking just a few steps before climbing up the ladder. And also will use an uncrowded arrival terminal at Westchester County airport.
Bliss Jet president and chief executive David Rimmer are very optimistic about the forthcoming operation of this flight. He says, “Bliss Jet is for people who schedule time in minutes, not hours. We will cater to discerning, intercontinental travellers who seek a unique, private jet experience that is superior to any scheduled premium cabin service, yet far more cost-effective than bespoke private jet charter.”
This flight will allow the elite passengers to avoid the hassles of flying from congested airports in both the cities such as Heathrow in London and JFK in New York. This itself will be a lot of time and energy-saving too. This type of operation will open a new avenue for the passengers in cost-cutting measures on flying expenses.
